Verify an Assessor
An assessor arriving to conduct a practical examination should be able to prove the Board sent them. Check the reference on their appointment letter, or their name, here.
Who approves an assessor
The Board does not certify assessors. Assessors are certified by the national certifying authority, and the Board engages people who already hold a current approval from it. What the Board records is that it has seen and checked that approval, and that the person is in its service. The two identifiers are therefore separate: the authority issues the approval number, and the Board issues its own reference.
What is not shown here
Assessors are private individuals. This page shows only what is needed to confirm that the person in front of you is who they say they are and is approved for the trade being examined. It does not show identity card numbers, addresses, personal telephone numbers, email addresses, bank details or any record of payment, and the Board will not release those.
Something is wrong
If an assessor cannot be verified, if the trade does not match, or if anybody asks a candidate or an institute for money, report it to the Board. An assessor is paid by the Board and by nobody else. The Board's payment covers the whole visit, so no institute is required to arrange or pay for an assessor's travel, meals or accommodation, and no assessor may ask for them. A request of that kind is a matter for the Board, whether or not any money changed hands.
